Ahead of our December shows, we decided that we would run collections for local homeless charity Coffee4Craig over the winter. This was part of our efforts to be a force for good within the community, as well as within comedy as an industry, along with donating to the Trillion Trees Campaign as a backer reward for our Patrons.
Our first collection went unbelievably well. We took along one IKEA bag hoping we might fill it most of the way. We ended up with an overflowing IKEA bag and FIVE additional carrier bags.
Thank you so much to everyone who donated. It meant so much to us.
We made the decision to continue with these collections indefinitely when the Conservatives won in a landslide at the election on December 12th 2019. Five more years of austerity inevitably means the exponential growth of food bank use, poverty and homelessness.
We don’t expect people to bring in donations at the same level as our first collection. But if you could spare a box of teabags or powdered hot chocolate or a tin or two of food, we would be tremendously grateful on behalf of a charity that we believe does genuine good for some of the most vulnerable people in society.
(Obviously, you can take these along yourself or have them shipped to Coffee4Craig, you don’t need to bring them to us if you don’t want to.)
Thank you so much for all your support.
