We are gearing up to head back to Gullivers for a penultimate show of the year that feels like it has come around far too fast indeed! We very much hope that you will join us on Thursday 27th August to enjoy some chuckles with a host of excellent comedians.
Tickets, as ever, are free to book, with a pay-what-you-like option on the door. We try our best to accommodate everyone who shows up regardless, but we do recommend booking to ensure you’ll get a seat, as our room gets very full.
Reserve your free space here.
Come along to see…
Kate McCabe
Kate is an act originally from The States but currently living and working in the UK. Nowadays, you can see her in the improvised comedy show MURDER INC, ComedySportz, Facts May Vary: The Improvised Documentary, or the 2-hander play The Name of the Dame which is currently touring the countryside.
“Just a goddamn delight” – MCR Wire
with support from Bobbie Jones
A combination of Dad jokes and Daddy issues, Bobbie-Ann Jones is one of the funniest queers ever to come from the West Midlands. Bobbie has gigged throughout the UK and she is a well-known nuisance on the north-west comedy circuit. As of April 2022, Bobbie is also a Quantum Leopard Comedy Competition winner.
“One to Watch” – Funny Women
“Obvious talent” – The Student Newspaper
“Powerhouse of a comedian” – Blizzard Comedy
Mary Cross
After breaking on to the comedy scene in 2022, founder of Bliss Comedy, Mary Cross, aka the Punning Linguist, has quickly become a firm favourite on the circuit with her own brand of high-energy comedy which leaves audiences on a euphoric high.
UK Pun Championship Semi-Finalist in 2024, 2025 and 2026 and with sellout shows in the Women in Comedy Festival, Lancaster Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe, Mary’s combination of relatable stories, original songs and linguistic acrobats is a sure-fire winner.
“Mary Cross is confident, charming, and charismatic. One of those people who has a real infectious sense of humour, a warm wit that really makes you all feel in on the jokes, not just that they’re being told to you” – Blizzard Comedy
and Jen Roberts
Jen is an openly queer comedian based in stoke, bringing all the relatable content from the shenanigans that come with having ADHD to why growing up is the worst.
and host Jaycie Grace
Jaycie Grace has been a transgender comedian since when it was only slightly hot girl shit to be so. Performing since she was 16 years old and badly masquerading as a different gender, she’s honed her act over the years alongside her identity – perfecting a punky balance of aggressive love and inclusion with punky political rage, blending whimsey with cutting satire making her a favourite of neurodivergent queer leftists and allies of those things alike.
Jaycie makes it their mission in comedy to elevate the voices of underground and marginalised acts, and curate a safe community space for the kind of people who love comedy but find the club scene uncomfortable if not outright hostile to their presence, leading them to co-found Manchester’s award nominated inclusive, diverse and accessible alternative “Blizzard Comedy” club in 2019, becoming a staple of the North West circuit and cascading policies and ideas throughout the circuit, including adoptions of content warning flags and normalising a culture of checking pronouns, and all in all making the circuit a nicer place for acts and audiences alike.
“[Jaycie] is a force of nature on stage. A whirlwind of hilarity with a unique viewpoint, they energy and passion personified.” – XS Malarkey
“[Jaycie] is deceptively rapid-fire, with a gag rate that would shame most one-line merchants. They can bring a simmer to a boil with ease, and make a huge mess of your kitchen.” – James Ross (Quantum Leopard)
