Blizzard Comedy’s Broadcast Avalanche: NYE 2025

We are fast approaching the end of yet another year of chaos, and we have rallied the finest minds in our circle to reflect on everything that has happened.

This year we are fundraising in aid of the LGBT Foundation, a charity that provides queer friendly safe spaces for sexual health screenings, supporting the gender clinic that is allowing our very own Jonny Collins to embark on their transition journey, and just generally supporting LGBTQIA+ health and wellbeing in a time where we really need that more than ever.

Bobbie has gigged throughout the UK and she is a well-known face on the north-west comedy circuit- she hosted Lolshevism Comedy Club in Leeds from 2018 until 2020. with Kirstie Summers

Kirstie Summers is the administrative force behind Manchester’s multi-award-nominated safe space stand up show, Blizzard Comedy. versus

Eden MW

In 2022, Eden got diagnosed with ADHD. So they did what any self-respecting person would do: Wrote an entire magic show about it. And now they’re making that your problem. MISDIRECTION combines comedy, storytelling and magic to try and explain life with ADHD. Or maybe it just uses the NHS website’s list of ADHD symptoms as excuses to do magic at you. Or maybe… both?

Described as “Hilariously Unbroadcastable” by the BBC, Eden is a frenetic, chaotic and whimsical Magician and Comedian with a decade of experience performing across two continents. Coming personal themes of queerness and neurodivergence with impossible magic and nonsensical storytelling, when Eden’s on stage you never quite know what to expect. But one thing’s for certain, it will be magical.

“Hilariously Unbroadcastable” – BBC
“Eden is a LOT OF FUN and a very funny magician[…]shocked and impressed the audience, whilst keeping the laughs up.” – Late Stage Comedy
“Great fun, quality on stage and really original” – Dan Webber

with Ian Lane

Comedian, reluctant DJ, second fastest Worms Armageddon speedrunner in the world, YouTube’s only remix reviewer.

“He’s no Jason Byrne” – Chortle

versus

Kath Marvelley

Kath is a funny, warm and theatrical popular who is popular with audiences and snakes. She is a comedian and improviser who has performed regularly with Improv on Demand (sold out most years), and in last year’s Women In Comedy Festival in a well received show Scenic View Improv. She also performs at Improv Wednesday shows including recently Tall Tales. She can also be seen performing stand up and alternative comedy in the North.

“Charismatic, confident, warm, assured and very funny. – Picture House Comedy
“Kath is instantly engaging, likeable and a joy to watch” – Blizzard Comedy
“Nice Earrings” – Audience Member 1

with Tom Short

Tom has become a regular fixture of the UK comedy scene, bringing his unique mix of surreal ideas, working-class perspective, and playful absurdity to stages across the country.

He has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and beyond, developing acclaimed shows that mix character, storytelling, and sharp observations. His recent projects include Tom Short: Comedy Genius, 5 Stars — a live-streamed exploration of fame, delusion, and internet culture — and The Cabaret of Terror a multi year sell out queer goth entertainment extravaganza.

Alongside performing, Tom runs Comedy Lab, a fast-growing comedy workshop programme that helps emerging writers and performers develop their craft. His workshops have sold out across Manchester, Liverpool, and London, and he collaborates with industry professionals including BBC Radio 4 writers.

With a comic style that blends silliness, satire, and heart, Tom has been described as “a natural performer with a unique voice” and continues to carve out his place as one of the most inventive comedians in the North West.

“A wonderful show, with one perfectly constructed routine providing the funniest moment of my fringe.” – edfringe.com
“Brilliantly anarchic. Tom will bedazzle you with his attempts at magic, much hilarity ensues.” – edfringe.com
“Embrace the cleverness interspersing with the silliness and the result is a lot of laughter. Great themes that everyone can appreciate & enjoy. Absolutely loved the show.” – edfringe.com
“This is a really cleverly conceived show that dares to be different in a way that is in itself a comment on its place in the comedy world. I loved it. Every comedian should take a look.” – edfringe.com

and hosted by our very lovely Jonny Collins

Jonny Collins is an aggressively inclusive Non-Binary comedian, Jonny pulls no punches yet makes everyone feel welcome and represented in their thought provoking, and well constructed deconstructions of gender, sexuality and politics. With radical leftist ideals and a fast and furious delivery style, Jonny Collins is a favourite of socialists, anarchists, feminists (of the trans inclusive variety), and queer activists alike.

“Jonny is a force of nature on stage. A whirlwind of hilarity with a unique viewpoint, they energy and passion personified.” – XS Malarkey
“Jonny Collins is deceptively rapid-fire, with a gag rate that would shame most one-line merchants. They can bring a simmer to a boil with ease, and make a huge mess of your kitchen.” – James Ross (Quantum Leopard)
