Our teams for this episode are:
Eva Carroll
From bisexual awakenings and adventures to being a scouser at the University of Cambridge, from Catholic school to dealing with the poshest in the population. Eva looks at the nuances of class, gender, sexuality and the wild ride that goes with it! Eva has competed in the national New Comedian of the Year and was a finalist in the Southport New Comedian of the Year.
“Eva was wonderful at Tank. Her material was well written, well delivered and she was great to work with. She’s someone we would recommend on any bill, our audience loved her!” – Wool Comedy
and Quenby Harley
Quenby is a chaotic queer cryptid who occasionally makes things. An award winning writer, artist, and general funny person – nobody is ever quite sure what their next hyperfixation will be but it’s generally worth watching (though possibly at a distance).
with team captain Bobbie Jones
A combination of Dad jokes and Daddy issues, Bobbie-Ann Jones is one of the funniest prediabetic queers ever to come from Walsall. She was the first female Head Writer for the Birmingham Footnotes Comedy Society from 2015-2016. Bobbie has gigged throughout the UK and she is a well-known face on the north-west comedy circuit- she hosted Lolshevism Comedy Club in Leeds from 2018 until 2020. She is currently a Team Captain on Blizzard Comedy’s Broadcast Avalanche. As of April 2022, Bobbie is also a Quantum Leopard Comedy Competition winner.
“One to Watch” – Funny Women 2017
“Obvious talent” – The Student Newspaper 2018
“An absolute powerhouse of a comedian” – Blizzard Comedy 2022
Quantum Leopard Competition Winner – April 2022
versus
Ian Lane
Worms speedrunner, DJ, comedian, dilettante, git.
Not So New Comedian Of The Year finalist 2022
“Likeable enough” – Broadway Baby
and Jono Murray
Comedian and front man for the post punk duo ‘Austerity Dogs’, Jonathan tells of their working class upbringing and anger towards all things Tory, while making you laugh along the way. From council estates to Thailand, his stories are hard to believe, but he has the proof his life really is that strange.
“I seen Jono do comedy so I gave his band a go and seen them live. He screamed at me about gentrification” – an Austerity Dogs viewer
with team captain Katie Mitchell
A rising star of the Midlands comedy circuit, Katie Mitchell’s comedy is alternative yet pervasive. She revels in a mainstream stand-up environment, as well as more specific events like cabaret, burlesque, and music festivals.
with host Jonny Collins
Jonny Collins is an aggressively inclusive Non-Binary comedian, Jonny pulls no punches yet makes everyone feel welcome and represented in their thought provoking, and well constructed deconstructions of gender, sexuality and politics. With radical leftist ideals and a fast and furious delivery style, Jonny Collins is a favourite of socialist, anarchists, feminists (of the trans inclusive variety), and queer activists alike.
“Jonny is a force of nature on stage. A whirlwind of hilarity with a unique viewpoint, they energy and passion personified.” – XS Malarkey
“Jonny Collins is deceptively rapid-fire, with a gag rate that would shame most one-line merchants. They can bring a simmer to a boil with ease, and make a huge mess of your kitchen.” – James Ross (Quantum Leopard)
