Our final Broadcast Avalanche of the year (specials excluded) is coming up soon! Join us live on Twitch from 7pm on Monday 19th December for….
Craig Wilson
Craig Wilson is a nice boy. That’s the reputation he’s gained in his years of doing comedy and his weekly phone all to his gran at least. Craig’s act combines a mixture of everyday scenarios and absurd ‘shower-thoughts,’ somehow making him extremely relatable and a total enigma.
As seen on BBC Scotland’s #CancelKarenDunbar programme and in The Skinny and Scotland on Sunday as part of his famous gameboy pop band King Wine.
“Wilson is a stand-up comedian” – Scotland on Sunday
“As pure innocent and hilarious as they come” – The Diversity Quota
and
Sam Lake
Sam is a very pleasant young man who does stand-up quite well. He’s racked up a number of achievements, including winning Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian of the Year and Hastings Fringe Newcomer of the Year. As well as this, Sam has recently starred in Dave’s “The Comedy Guide to Life” & All4’s “The Joy of Missing Out” with Tom Allen. His writing has been featured on Mock The Week (BBC 2), Breaking The News (BBC Radio Scotland) & Newsjack (BBC Radio 4 extra). He’s also the host of the podcast “I’ve Had a Rosé, Let’s Talk About Feelings”, and regularly performs at the biggest clubs up and down the country. His debut solo show “Cake” garnered rave reviews (mostly).
“Gut Bustingly Funny” – Deadline News
“A talk show host in waiting” – Chortle
“Lake is tremendously fun company” – Scotsman
“Infectious charm & chaotic gay energy” – Fringe Biscuit
with team captain Kirstie Summers
Our admin and promotor from day one, Kurt has become a regular on Blizzard Comedy’s Broadcast Avalanche. Known for breaking character, straying wildly off topic and bursting into unhinged rants, she is dependent on being teamed with acts who have actually paid attention to the news.
“Too attractive” – Chris
and
Righteous Lion
Righteous Lion will charm you with his dynamic personality and cheeky world view while telling stories about his heritage, his hair and his relationships. He’s like an early career Dave Chapelle if he was English and less controversial. This Manchester lad and his surprising off-beat insights will have you chuckling in the aisles.
Chortle Student Award Semi Finalist 2022
and
Eddie French
Comedian and showoff Eddie French refuses to explain themselves. Mainly because they can’t. Through talking and making noise, Eddie will do what they can. They’re also a member of Leeds’ best improv group, Discount Comedy Checkout and composer and a regular contributor for the I See News podcast.
“Eddie brings immense confidence to the stage, their crowd work was a pleasure to watch and marvellously ending with a singalong – they were fantastic.” – The Laughing Pug Comedy Club
with team captain Katie Mitchell
A rising star of the Midlands comedy circuit, Katie Mitchell’s comedy is alternative yet pervasive. She revels in a mainstream stand-up environment, as well as more specific events like cabaret, burlesque, and music festivals.
“One of the weirdest and most brilliant new acts I’ve seen in a while.” – Monsoon of Random
with host Jonny Collins
Jonny Collins is an aggressively inclusive Non-Binary comedian, Jonny pulls no punches yet makes everyone feel welcome and represented in their thought provoking, and well constructed deconstructions of gender, sexuality and politics. With radical leftist ideals and a fast and furious delivery style, Jonny Collins is a favourite of socialist, anarchists, feminists (of the trans inclusive variety), and queer activists alike.
“Jonny is a force of nature on stage. A whirlwind of hilarity with a unique viewpoint, they energy and passion personified.” – XS Malarkey
“Jonny Collins is deceptively rapid-fire, with a gag rate that would shame most one-line merchants. They can bring a simmer to a boil with ease, and make a huge mess of your kitchen.” – James Ross (Quantum Leopard)
