Eden M-W and Joe Hollingworth v Stuart Dunlop and Amarpal Singh || BCBA S03 E07

Our next episode of Blizzard Comedy’s Broadcast Avalanche will be broadcast live on our Twitch channel on Monday 28th November!

This episode features:

Eden M-W

Part magician, part pirate and part comedian, Eden (They/Them) is a one of a kind performer that promises to leave you impressed, amused and a little confused (in the best possible way). Currently working on their new solo show “I’ll Get Back to That”, Eden’s comedy is a personal and slightly surreal look into Queerness and Neurodivergence, each note punctuated with magical miracle unlike anything you’ve seen before.

“Hilariously Unbroadcastable” – BBC

“Kept the audience in the palm of their hand in a way that many seasoned comics would envy” – Blizzard Comedy

“Eden is a LOT OF FUN and a very funny magician[…]shocked and impressed the audience, whilst keeping the laughs up.” – Late Stage Comedy

“Great fun, quality on stage and really original” – Dan Webber

and

Joe Hollingworth

Joe Hollingworth is a comedy writer, director, producer, composer, and used to wrestle in the backstreets of Campeche under the name ‘El Diablo Tremarctos’ (The Spectacled Devil). Joe performed his absurd bag of tricks on the live comedy circuit to great aplomb, critical acclaim, and spectacular audience indifference. He has been on a hiatus from live performance (6 years), marathon running (29 years), and promoting his excellent joke-writing (0.5 seconds), but can usually be found running around backstage on award-winning live shows who need a hand. Maybe you’ll see him at a comedy show near you. Maybe you’ll see him sooner. Maybe you’ll see him now. Don’t turn around.

Edinburgh Revue Stand-Up Champion (2015)
Chortle Student Comedy Award Semi-Finalist (2015 & 2016)
As heard on BBC Radio Wales Arts Show

“Fantastic geeky confidence” – The Stand, Edinburgh
“brave, intelligent, and inventive” – Broadway Baby
“the comic talent of the future” – The Skinny

with team captain Bobbie Jones

A combination of Dad Jokes and Daddy Issues, Bobbie-Ann Jones is one of the funniest prediabetic queers ever to come from Wolverhampton. She once made her counsellor cry and laugh at the same time, and she’s still proud of it. Is often seen carrying a single chocolate bar in a Sainsburys bag for life and rocking a killer rack.

“One To Watch” – Funny Women 2017

“Obvious Talent” – The Student Newspaper 2018

and

Amarpal Singh

Amarpal had the fortune and misfortune of being brought up in Bradford by working class parents but falling into the bland trapdoor of middle aged and middle class monotony. Now as he hits his third quarter-life crisis, his stand up goes back to reflect on the bizarre contrast growing up and how it still effects him today: from school yard racism to bringing up a mixed race child, the show is a tender love letter to his family, his home town and the mental health issues that they both helped create.

“His likable and easy going style took the audience to a raucous place!” – The Lounge Comedy

“…it has to be said that he went down a storm. His no holds barred, ridiculously silly and funny performance was loved by the audience who all had positive reviews for him at the end of his stint. Certainly one to watch!!!!” – Groove pad

“…He has the classic combo of great material with being a really likable bloke” – 10 of the best

and

Stuart Dunlop

Stuart (he/him) is an writer, comedian, improviser and “free spirit”. Starting his career in Berlin, he has performed across the UK as himself and as wrestling manager-turned-guru Mitch “The Mouth” Merkabah.

Stuart is also a co-founder of Two Strangers Productions, creator and writer of the surreal comedy radio escapade “Kio and Maxi’s Adventures in Everything”, now on Spotify and SoundCloud, and, with Callum Jarvis-Jones, co-host of otherworldly game show The Forbidden Playroom (and after being informed that that might also be the name of a porno, he only slightly regrets the name choice).

“Stuart Dunlop never fails to deliver” – Kevin Proctor, NODA

“Like a British Steve Buscemi” – Berlin improvisation scene

with team captain Kirstie Summers

Our admin and promotor from day one, Kurt has become a regular feature of Blizzard Comedy’s Broadcast Avalanche over the past year. In that time she’s launched a new show where she chats to comedians, musicians and other creators every week, has cycled all over London and moved house twice.

“Too attractive” – Chris

with host Jonny Collins

Jonny Collins is an aggressively inclusive Non-Binary comedian, Jonny pulls no punches yet makes everyone feel welcome and represented in their thought provoking, and well constructed deconstructions of gender, sexuality and politics. With radical leftist ideals and a fast and furious delivery style, Jonny Collins is a favourite of socialist, anarchists, feminists (of the trans inclusive variety), and queer activists alike.

“Jonny is a force of nature on stage. A whirlwind of hilarity with a unique viewpoint, they energy and passion personified.” – XS Malarkey

“Jonny Collins is deceptively rapid-fire, with a gag rate that would shame most one-line merchants. They can bring a simmer to a boil with ease, and make a huge mess of your kitchen.” – James Ross (Quantum Leopard)
